Kaylee's Preschool Fashion: week one

Kaylee had a great first week at school
She's had fun each night picking her clothes out for the next day.
I thought it would be kinda fun to try and take a picture of her each morning before school
and it would be even more fun to put it in a collage at the end to see how much she's grown and changed during the school year.

Here is Kaylee's preschool fashion for the first week of school.

A weekend recap and update

Friday August 23rd:
The girls woke up bright n early at 6:20am, too early for this mom!  It was just the girls and I for the weekend, daddy left on Thursday to go to Pismo Beach with friends (Huckfest).  We got up ate breakfast, played outside a little bit and then the baby went down for a nap.  I told the girls if they continued to be good that they could get lunchables when we went to the store (don't judge).  The baby woke up and we headed out to WalMart, I had to get a few things and since the girls were good and really good in the store they got their lunchables.  We came home ate lunch and everyone went down for a nap.  The big girls woke up and went outside to play until grandma came to get them at 5:15.  So it was just the baby and I for the rest of the night.  We both ate dinner and then went for a walk around the block and then out back to swing (baby girl loves the swings)  We then came in, she got her jammies on and I rocked her in the chair just to get her relaxed and then I put her to bed.  I played around on the computer and watched TV.  At about 9:30pm I got a call from Jason's mom she wanted me to talk to the girls cause they were being bad and not going to bed!  I watched some more TV and then fell asleep around 11 or so (I actually fell asleep on our new couch, comfiest couch ever)

Saturday August 24th:
Both the baby and I didn't wake up till 8:30am, it was so nice to be able to sleep in.  I cant remember the last time I got to sleep in that late! haha.  Baby girl and I had a great morning.  She ate her breakfast and army crawled all over the house.  She is on the move and I cant keep her sitting still anymore.  She went down for a nap and I worked on a little project for the girls bathroom.  The house decorating is coming along and I'm loving it all so far, cant wait to share it.  After baby's nap we headed back outside again for more swinging fun while we waited for big sister's to get home.  The big girls got home around 12 and just in time for nap time!  When the girls woke up I got Kaylee dressed and we went out to take some back to school pictures, did an outfit change and back out for more pictures.  She took some really cute pictures.  The girls played out on the trampoline before coming in for dinner and then to watch a movie.  The movie ended right at bedtime.  We got our jammies on, read a book and everyone went to bed!

Sunday August 25th:
We pretty much just hung out around the house, waiting for daddy to get back from Pismo and getting everything ready for Kaylee's big first day of Preschool.  We had a great weekend and I survived it with all 3 girls.

* * * *

Since I haven't done an update in awhile I figured I'd fill you all in on what's been going on.

1.  We just moved into our new house.  Moving with 3 kids wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be.  The girls did really well and the baby was awesome during the whole thing.  As I'm sure your wondering, awhile back I said a big change was happening in our family and we would be moving to Texas.  Well that job opportunity fell through and we are staying put in CA, close to family and friends.  I am happy that we are staying, having family close by is awesome.  I'm not sure how the girls would have done not being able to see grandma on a weekly basis.  Shoot I would have missed grandma taking the girls on a weekly basis.  So we just moved into a brand new house that Jason's step dad built and we are LOVING it.  Everything is brand new, its super energy efficient and I am beyond excited to decorate it.  At the end of our year lease we will have the opportunity to buy the house.  I will be doing a house tour soon.

2.  Kendall will be turning ONE in two short months.  It's still so hard to believe that we're here already.  It makes me sad that she's growing up so fast.  I love the stage that she's in.  She's such a character and thinks her sisters hang the moon.  I am in full party planning mode.  We are planning to have her party on her actual birthday.  I am getting her outfit, bow and party décor from etsy {I'll list all the shops when I do her birthday post}  The colors are pink & grey and baby elephants.  Here is a little sneak peek...

3. A little update on Miss Keira
She is a spitfire!  She is sweet.  She is funny.  She is a great big sister.  She is a lover of food.  She is potty trained (day only - wears a pull up to bed).  In November my girl will be 3!  She is so smart and is so darn stubborn!  Sometimes her stubbornness drives me completely insane.  She has this weird thing about things being hot (she almost needs her bath water cold).  Sometimes her and Kaylee play so well together and then sometimes all they do is fight.  Since getting our trampoline her balance has improved so much!  She still takes one 2-3 hour nap.  She knows all her colors, she can sing her ABCs & she loves to color.  She can draw people complete with eyes, nose, smile, arms and legs.  She's a girly girl but a tomboy at the same time (she's not afraid to get in the dirt and play).  She loves riding her bike and has one stuffed animal named orangie that she takes every where with her and I mean every where (she sleeps with him, he eats breakfast with her, he comes with us to drop off Kaylee at school, he has a little pocket he sits in on Keira's bike, he goes to the bathroom with her and she sleeps with him at night!)  She's growing up so fast, she's almost 3 going on 13!

Kendall is 10 months old

Kendall:
We have entered the double digits sweet girl and I still cant believe it. You turned 10 months on 8.27.13  These 10 months have gone by in the blink of an eye.  I'm still in disbelief that in 2 months we'll be celebrating your 1st birthday {mommy is gonna go cry in the corner!}.  You are the most laid back little girl I've ever been around, your sisters weren't this laid back at all.  Its a nice change of pace.  It's funny how you guys are related but the 3 of you are so different.  Your little personality has really started to shine through and you are to funny.  Some of the faces you make, make us laugh so hard.  You have brought so much joy into our family sweet girl and we couldn't imagine life without you!  I love that your still a mommy's girl but the way you look at your daddy just melts my heart.

I love you to the moon and back!

Love,
Mommy

SLEEPING: Oh sweet girl this month has been so much, you are back to sleeping so well again.  During your last update those darn top teeth were coming in and giving you the hardest time.  I'm glad that both of them in and you are looking so adorable with them.  We have had a few days where you've wanted to rock to sleep and I'm not complaining about it, I love that you still love to snuggle with me.  Over this past month you have become a belly sleeper, I lay you down your back with your lovey and when I go back to check on you a short time later you are on your belly and using lovey as your pillow.  You are still taking 3 naps {9am for about an hour in a half, 12:30 for about 2-3 hours and 5:30 for about 45 minutes}  I've tried cutting you down to 2 naps but you clearly aren't ready, you love your sleep!

EATING: You are eating pureed baby food 2-3 times a day but you are slowly not really wanting that and wanting to eat people food.  You drink an 8oz bottle every 3-4 hours.  You love puffs, crackers, grapes {in your mesh feeder}, spaghetti, chicken and French fries.  This month we will be introducing more people foods

PERSONALITY: Little girl you are so funny.  You've started to make some really silly faces that makes everyone laugh.  When your sisters take something away from you or you don't get something you want right away  you will for sure let everyone know.  I cant believe how calm and go with the flow you are.  Everyday is fun with you!  You are really starting to show interest in what your sisters are doing.

Kaylee's 1st day of Preschool 2013

Kaylee is attending her second year of Preschool.
She will doing the same schedule as she did last year
Monday - Friday 8:45am - 11:45am
That schedule works good for us, cause I'll pick Kaylee up, the girls will eat lunch and then go down for a nap.  PERFECT!

On her first day we got up, she ate breakfast and then she got dressed.  We picked out her outfit the night before.  She wanted to wear a dress {she's very into wearing dresses right now} So she wore a new dress she got for her birthday with her sparkle shoes and her new backpack.  She was so excited!

This year I will be doing the same thing I did last year, I will be doing the drive through, where I will pull up and the school staff will take Kaylee out and walk her to her class and then at the end of each day she sits on a bench with all the other kids while she waits to be loaded up in the car.  This works perfect for us, so I don't have to unload all the girls.

For some reason this year I wasn't as emotional sending her to preschool like I was last year.  The great thing is she will be in the same classroom and have the same teacher as she did last year.  She will get to be with all her friends again and have a great year.  I'm sure I'll get a little more emotional next year when she goes to Kindergarten, that means more time at school.

And because everyone likes a good comparison
1st day of Preschool 2012 vs 1st day of Preschool 2013
She's grown and changed so much in a year

Guest Post: Little Girl Birthday Ideas

Perfect Ideas: Little Girl’s Birthday Party

Another year:  another birthday party. What are you doing for your little girl this year?

Like so many of us, coming up with a new birthday party idea can become frustrating. It feels like we’ve reached our limit! Especially with little girls: their ideas and likes are always changing, so birthdays vary every year.
Lucky for you I have some quick and easy ideas for you to create for your little girl’s special day, that can help carry on as a tradition throughout her many birthday parties to come. What’s better than having the traditions to keep and cherish, and for them to pass it on to their little girl when the time comes?

Photo Booth

Why not create your very own photo booth for the birthday party? You can create these to match any birthday party theme or idea. You can go as simple as using a girlie backdrop with a cute blanket to hang, or you can go crazy and cut out stencils for each guest to use; think crowns, lips, hats, etc. These will be a hit for sure! By having this as a tradition every year for your little girl, you’ll get to keep the memories in photos, as well has change the photo booth every year to fit to her liking.

T-Shirts

Nothing stands out more than the birthday girl wearing her very own shirt to separate herself from her party guests. Not only is this a great idea, but you can create these girl birthday shirts every year, making it a fun tradition. You can style it to match her theme, her choice of color and what she particularly likes at the moment in her life. She’ll get to keep the shirts, and you’ll get to keep the memories. She’ll love standing out, and she’ll look absolutely adorable.

Time Capsule

Every year for her birthday, have her write a list of all the things she is currently obsessed with. It could be her favorite color, movie, a dress or a pair of shoes she always wants to wear, her favorite word (if she’s young enough to first start talking), her favorite animal, etc. Get creative with this one! After she creates her list, take a picture of her holding it, and put it in a “time capsule” for her to open on her next birthday. It’s fun seeing the changes and you’ll get to keep the memories forever.

Mommy and Me Time

Before the birthday party (and this could be the day of, or the day before) set aside some quality girl time together with your daughter. It begins to get hard to set this time apart, so having this done every year for her birthday will become extra special. You guys could go to a movie, go to the spa, and maybe just even go to the park! Quality time is always a cherished thing—and she’ll remember it forever.

A trampoline surprise for the girls...

Some of the fun benefit's of Jason's job is that customers get rid of things and ask Jason if he wants it.  Last week a customer was getting rid of their trampoline and Jason said we would take it.
He came home with it and we told the girls to wait inside while we set it up and we would call them out when the surprise was all set up.  The girls LOVE surprises, so they couldn't wait to come out and see what daddy had brought home for them.
We got it all set up and daddy called the girls, they came running and were so excited to see the trampoline.  The great thing about it is that it wears them out!  I mean who wouldn't love that!  I love that the trampoline has a net around it.

The girls are getting yet another surprise, a customer was getting rid of playhouse and Jason said heck yeah we would take it.  We've been looking at getting one for the girls for a long time, so to get a free one = WINNING!  The girls are gonna flip when they see it!  I see lots of time spent on the new playhouse with the 3 of them.  Here is what it looks like
