Were a month into the school year and we are finally in a routine.
The first few weeks of school was a big adjustment for both Kendall and I. She is a huge mama's girl so her leaving me all day was hard on not only her but me as well. The thought of not having her by my side all day was gut wrenching. I knew this day would come but it feels like it came to fast. I feel like her starting school meant my image of her being my baby was gone, she's a big girl now. It meant my day would be filled with less laughter, less questions and it meant I could pee by myself!
Her first 4 days of school, she was so excited to go and I was excited for her. She had talked about making lots of new friends and all the fun she had, which made me happy. We made it 3 days into week 2 before she started crying when it was time for me to leave her, it broke this mama's heart. Seeing her cry and reach out for me was heart breaking and it made me want to scoop her up and take her home with me. But her sweet teacher would email me and let me know that 10 minutes after I left she was totally fine, laughing and having fun. Which made me feel so much better. Knowing that she has an amazing teacher made it easier for me as well as her.

Going into week 3 I asked for some advice from my followers on instagramers for tips to make her comfortable and get her to not cry when I left, I got some great tips and a lot of them said the same thing. So for week 3 she picked out one of her small Chelsea Barbie dolls and took her to school with her, while she waited in line before going into class, she would take her barbie out, stroke her hair and it would calm her down. It allowed us both to walk into class, unpack her bag and me leave without any crying. It's been 2 weeks with her mini barbie and things have been going great. There hasn't been any crying at drop off and it's been going smooth.
This week she told that her Barbie wasn't working anymore and I knew I needed to come up with a new idea cause she started crying when I would leave. So instead she is wearing a necklace of mine, its a mini lock and I have the heart and I tell her that I'm with her all day long. She's worn the past 2 days and we've been good. I get a hug and kiss and a see you after school mommy. It makes me leaving her so much easier when I know she's happy.

Since school has started she's able to write her name all be herself, cut and glue, she's gone to the library to pick out books, she plays on the playground with her friends, she's bought lunch for the first time, she's painted lots of pictures and she got her 1st homework packet this week. It's been so much fun to see how much she's grown in only a month of school being in.
