Potty Training

June 23, 2011 - Day 1

Before I begin to tell you how Day 1 of potty training went
I will say that I had my doubts about how today would go.

I tried potty training Kaylee around 19 months old
She was definetly NOT ready, she would have accident after accident and she would scream and cry when I put her on the potty.  So lets just say it was a little bit of a nightmare!

So I figured I'd wait until after her 2nd birthday to start trying again and also wait for her to seem a little more interested.  About a month before her 2nd birthday she started going #2 on the potty.  I could always tell when she needed to go and the weird noises she would make.  So anytime I heard or saw her acting funny I would immediatly take her to the potty and she would go.  So I was happy that she was half potty trained.  I haven't had to change a poop diaper in 3 months!  And let me tell you how AWESOME that is!

So now fast foward 3 months to today
I didn't wake up this morning thinking that I was going to start potty training
Kaylee woke up came into our room and her diaper was still dry.  She gave me like a weird look and said "mama I have to poop"  So we rushed to get her pjs off and I was telling her "hold it, don't go"

We get her diaper off and we run to the potty and she goes pee.
She is soooo proud of herself and so was mommy.
She flushed and asked if she could have her DORA panties on
So we put her panties on and I hoped that she didn't have an accident the first hour of wearing them.  Well much to my surprise she didn't.
She did have one small little accident today which wasn't her fault, she felt herself go a little and she tried running to her potty while trying to hold it in but it didn't work.  She had a little pee trail from where she was playing to her little potty.  She was so disappointed and even cried.  I told her that it was ok.

So she went down for a nap in a diaper, we aren't even attempting to nap or night time train yet!
She went down for her nap at 12:30 and woke up at 3 and was dry.  So we sat on the potty and she went.
She wore her panties all day until we got ready for bed around 7:30 when she got her diaper on for the night.  But all day when she had to go potty she would tell me and we would hurry to the potty and she would go each time.

So today was very SUCCESSFUL
And I am ONE PROUD MOMMY!

So here's hoping that today goes just as good as yesterday!

She started off wearing her plain white panties and decided she didn't want to wear those ones and wanted to wear her Tinkerbell and later changed into her DORA one's after her little accident!

Also cant forget about Miss Keira
I cant believe that Miss K is going to be 7 months old on the 29th.  Where the heck does the time go.  Pretty soon I'm going to need to start getting ideas for her 1st birthday!
