Three Weeks Old

Kendall turned 3 weeks old on November 17th, 2012
Baby girl are really only a week away from you being a month old.
Another week has past in the blink of an eye.
Time really does need to slow down.

EATING:  this week has been different cause I thought you weren't getting enough breast milk cause after you would eat on both sides you would want more, so I thought I wasn't making enough for you.  So last week we were supplimenting with formula and breast milk.  But this week that has all changed and I haven't had to give you formula at all.  During the day you are eating every 2 hours off of both boobies.  You latch on really well and sometimes you fall asleep on me but most of the time you have to take a break cause you eat so fast.  But I am glad that this week is going better and that I haven't had to give you formula.  My breastfeeding experience with your sisters was short lived and only lasted a month, so I'm hoping that we'll make it longer than that with you.  I'm going to set a goal and try to make it to 3 months and then go from there.

SLEEPING: you sleep most of the day away, but you do have periods during the day where you still stay awake any where from 30 minutes to an hour.  You love to look around and I try to talk but nothing comes out.  You will sleep just about anywhere (swing, boppy or pack n play) but your favorite spot to sleep is right on mommy's chest (SPOILED).  At night you are still sleeping in our bed next to me.  I didn't do this with either of your sisters, they would eat and then go right back into the pack n play.  But with you its different this time around.  Which I know I shouldn't do cause it might cause problems later, but right now I am loving our snuggle sessions.  At night you sleep any where from 3-4 hours before waking up to eat.  I've gotten really lucky that I've been able to put you and both your sisters down for a nap at the same time.  It allows mommy to take a nap or clean up around the house, so thank you for that!

STATS:
Weight: 8lbs
Height: 20.5"
Clothes: Newborn
Diapers: Newborn (size 1 at night)
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Dark Blue

TUMMY TIME:  we are still doing tummy time almost everyday for about 2 minutes.  you don't love it and you don't hate it.  but anything longer than 2 minutes and you start to get mad and cry.  Once you start crying tummy time is done.  your sisters continue to lay on the floor with you to do tummy time and they clap and get excited for you when you lift your head up!  Its cute.

LIKES:
* bath time
* your swing
* snuggling with mommy or daddy
DISLIKES:
* diaper changes (especially when I use a wipe on your butt)
* being naked
* being put into your car seat (once your buckled in your ok)

THINGS TO REMEMBER:
* you took your first outting with me to WalMart to shop for groceries and get a few other things.  you did great, you slept the whole time!
* you met your Grandpa Dennis for the first time
* your sisters are still loving you lots and yell for me everytime you make a noise
* mommy attempted to take pictures of you and your sisters for our xmas cards and for sibling pics but that was a big FAIL.  your sisters were not coroperating at all!  We'll try again

* you are liking bath time more.  The very first bath you had after your umbilical cord fell off you didn't like at all.  But you are now enjoying them, you like to have the water poured on you.
* you went out to your first resturant and did really well!

* you are such a calm baby and only cry when your hungry or have a wet diaper

* you smile in your sleep and it could possibly be the custest thing

* any little noise you make, Keira thinks your crying and she tried to give you your pacifier.  she also has to let me know that your crying.

* you sleep with your mouth open most of the time.

  5. I'm so happy for you that you didn't have to supplement this week! Great job both of you! Setting small goals is a great way to go about it.

    Also, we coslept with both kids. First time until six months, second to almost 11 months. Both transitions were fairly easy. I will always recommend (but understand if it doesn't work for some people) cosleeping to anyone (I think it made night nursing easier).
