Our Hawaiian Adventure

Honeymoons, does it really matter when you have one, as long as you have one?  After my husband and I got married 2 years ago in November (2016) we weren't sure if we'd take a honeymoon or not.  After just spending all our money we had saved on our wedding, a honeymoon wasn't even something we thought of going on right after getting married.  I knew we'd take one just wasn't really sure when, we'd talked about going to Hawaii or somewhere tropical just the two of us.
So when my husband pulled out all the stops and I mean all the stops to surprise me with an anniversary/honeymoon trip, I was super excited to be spending 5 days of alone time with him.  He did good, I'll give him that.  He surprised me in November and here we are in February just getting back from our Hawaiian adventure.  Jason's cousin Justin and his gf had been to Kona a few times so we thought it would be fun if we all went together, and I'm so glad we did, it was so much fun!  We got up really early on Friday morning 2/10 (4:30am) to head to the airport, we made it to the airport, went through security and got some Starbucks while we waited to board.  I hate flying so I didn't really eat or drink too much of my Starbucks.  We boarded the plane and much to my surprise I didn't feel like I was going to have an anxiety attack, I made sure to talk to my husband and joke around to keep my mind off the take off.  The flight was about 6 hours, we landed in Honolulu where we had a 3 hour lay over.  We got some very over priced lunch in the airport and then got more starbucks and then waited.  Our lay over turned into 4 hours, after 4 hours had passed we finally got to board the plane, where we then had to sit for an additional 30 mins cause something about condensation in the back they had to check on.  They determined it was fine and we were finally able to leave Honolulu to make the 35 minute plane ride to Kona.  It was so nice to finally be in Kona after being in a plane for what seemed like all damn day.  Our bags were waiting for us after we got off the plane and the shuttle to take us to our car was waiting as well, hallelujah.  We loaded our bags into our rental jeep and headed to our condo.  The condo was amazing, it was on the bottom floor at the corner over looking the ocean, so beautiful.  Our remaining 4 days were spent exploring the island, trying new food, visiting 3 different beaches, snorkeling, diving, watching sunsets and having the best time ever.

Being a mom while traveling that far did give me a little anxiety but knowing they were in good hands did ease my mind.  This was the furthest and longest we've been away from the girls.  It was the perfect amount of time and I was so excited to be back with them.  I wasn't really excited about having to get up early the next morning to take them to school!  I was still on Hawaii time wishing I was laying in bed listening to the waves crashing instead.  Now on to planning the next trip but with the girls this time!

Enjoy the picture overload!
