Enjoying the small things

I am taking time to enjoy the small things in life.

The Mad Face
This is Kaylee's new face she likes to do now.  It makes me laugh.  She's starting to understand what faces mean.  She was looking through a book the other day and said "mama bear is mad" (he was sad) and then at the end of the book she said "mama bear is happy"  Its awesome to see that she is recognizing faces and feelings.

Mommy Time
I love the mommy time that I get everyday with my girls.  Being a stay at home mom is hard work but I wouldn't change it for the world.  Being able to watch them hit all their milestones and new things they learn everyday is what makes my job so rewarding

Baby Feet
I am loving Keira's baby feet.  They are just so cute and I could take pictures of them all day.  Kaylee likes to have her toes painted and she wanted me to paint Keira's so we gave it a try.  It was a little hard with her moving her feet but I got them painted and they look so cute

Smily Girls
I love to see my girls smile, I love watching them interact and I love that they are so close and can enjoy growing up to be best friends.  I love watching how excited Kaylee gets in the morning knowing that Keira is awake.  I love watching Keira get a big smile on her face when Kaylee talks to her.  It just melts my heart

Pool Time Fun
Now that we got our pool fixed and refilled with water Kaylee has enjoyed splashing around in the pool.  Over the weekend while Daddy took Kaylee to get mommy a Mother's Day gift she also got some stuff too.  Daddy got her a Toy Story beach towel (she is obsessed) and squirt guns, which she enjoyed shooting at the dogs.  This summer is going to be fun sitting pool side!

Baby Blues
I love the fact that both my kids got my blue eyes.  I have blue eyes and hubby has brown eyes.  Well my eyes trumped his and both our girls have got the most gorgeous eyes.  Keira has really dark blue eyes.

Toy Messes
This is what my house looks like on an everyday basis.  I clean up all the toys after Kaylee goes to bed cause there's no point in cleaning it up while she takes a nap cause all the toys come back out again.  I enjoy watching her play and pretend, its the cutest thing.

Mother's Day 2011

I had a wonderful Mother's Day.  It was my first Mother's Day as a mama to two babies!  Last year was my first Mother's Day a few days away from Kaylee's first birthday.  Last year Mother's Day was May 10th and I was hoping she would have been here so that I could celebrate my first but no she held out 3 days and decided to make her apperiance May 13th instead.  But that's ok!

But this year I have two babies to celebrate with & I couldn't have been happier to spend the whole day with them.  I was awoken bright and early at 6am by my littlest beauty thinking it was time to be awake, so I gave her her bottle and nicely asked her that once she was done if we could go back to sleep for a little bit.  Well she must have agreed cause she went back to sleep and I was then awoken again by my other little beauty with a present.

Saturday daddy took Kaylee out to pick something out for mommy.  They were gone for 2 hours.  This was the first time that it was just daddy & Kaylee by themselves.  It was so cute to see her get so excited to go somewhere with daddy, she kept saying "mone daddy lets go! hurry up."  hehe

So back to Sunday morning Daddy brought Kaylee in from her room with her present she picked out.  She picked out some candles for mommy.  I love candles, she picked them out by colors not smell....she did a good job cause they smell good.  My BIG surprise came when she pulled out a little box wrapped.

Daddy upgraded Momm'y ring to a bigger one!  I was so surprised and had NO idea!  It was so pretty, I had to take it to the jewlrey store to get it resized cause ot was to big.

After my morning surprise we all got ready to head to Jason's moms for breakfast.  We had yummy pancakes and bacon.  The girls played and we all visited.

After breakfast and playing we headed home to spend the rest of the day together.  The girls took a nap and mommy got some cleaning done (yes I cleaned on Mother's Day).  I still have to get the house ready for a party on Saturday.

Later on we met up for some Chinese with the Alegre's.  We had a good time and the food was good.

I tried to get a Mother's Day picture with both my girls but Kaylee was NOT having it at all!!  But Keira only wanted to take pictures with mommy!

This was the ONLY picture that I was able to get of Kaylee.  She likes to sleep with lots of toys now.  She sleeps on her pillow pet (which she has named DOUG), her 2 Olivia's, Jessie & Woody (from Toy Story)
Yes she still has a pacifier but she only uses it when its nap time & bed time.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my family and I look forward to many more with them.

SMS - Mother's Day

On May 13, 2009  at 12:57am after 18.5 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, I became a mommy for the first time to the most beautiful little girl I've ever seen! She weighed 6lbs 15oz and was 19.5" long.  We decided on her name after we found out what we were having.

KAYLEE ELIZABETH

I had an easy pregnany with her and the labor/delivery wasn't bad either.  She entered the world crying and my life was complete.  The joy that I felt that day was the best feeling in the world.

The first year with her went by so fast and I wanted time to slow down to enjoy every minute with her.  I was luck enough that I was able to become a stay at home mom and I couldn't have asked for a better job to have.  We celebrated her 1st birthday with a big party of family and friends.  It was an eventful 1st birthday including a call to 911 cause she was chocking (she was fine).  We sang to her and she really smashed into her cake and it was a good day. She was such a good baby.  She started sleeping through the night at 4 weeks old, sat up unassisted at 4 months old, started eating rice cereal at 4.5 month old, said her first word "MAMA" at 5.5 months old, got her 1st tooth at 6 months, started crawling at 10 months, stood up unassisted at 13 months and finally started walking at 14 months old.  From that day foward she's been an energetic toddler.

Once she started talking it was all over from there.  She would mimic everything that we said and did.

We joined a playgroup when she was 1.5 so that she could interact with other kids and so that mommy could have some adult conversation.  Not that I didn't enjoy talking to her it was just that she couldn't really talk back with me.

Watching her grow up into the beautiful little girl that she is today has made me the happiest mommy around.  She has made me so proud and I couldn't imagine my life without her.  Yes she does have her moments when she makes me want to rip my hair out and go crazy with her tantrums or excessive whining for no reason.  She's made me a better person and I couldn't of been happier to have a little girl.  She is 100% a daddy's girl (she use to be a mommy's girl when she was little).

We learned in June of 2009 that Kaylee was going to be a BIG SISTER.  The second pregnancy was not planned at all and was a total surprise.  I was worried about how Kaylee would react with a new baby and was scared to be a mom of 2 under 2!  But Kaylee has made my life complete.

On November 29, 2010 at 10:43pm after 15 hours of labor and 20 minutes of pushing I became a mommy again.  She was weighed 7lbs 1oz and was 20" long.  This labor was different than the one I had with Kaylee.  I went to my 39 week appointment and was told to go to the hospital immidetly cause they thought I had really low fluids, so they induced and I didn't learn until after I had her and they cleaned her off that the cord was wrapped around her neck twice.  I was only able to see her real quick ebfore they took her away, so it was different in the way that she didn't get placed on my chest after she was born but I was so thankful that she was ok.

Trying to pick a name for this little lady was harder than I thought it would be.  I liked so many cute names that Jason scratched off the list real quick.  We went back and forth on names until I was about 35 weeks along and then we finally agreed on her name.

KEIRA ALEXIS

I had to wait 2 hours before they brought her into me and she was the most beautiful little girl I'v seen.  Now that I had her & her sister my life was really complete now.  We were a family of 4 and I couldn't have been any happier.

I was sad that I was away from Kaylee for 2 days cause I had never been away from her for mom than a couple hours.  So the day we got home from the hospital I was so excited to see Kaylee & super nervous at the same time.  She was only 18.5 months old, how is she going to react to this new little person invading in on her time with mommy.  I was worried that she was going to be jealous.  But I made it a point that when the baby was sleeping I would have mommy & Kaylee time.

The first few weeks at home were busy and tiring trying to figure out a schedule and get on some sort of routine.  Those first few weeks Kaylee didn't really pay attention to Keira at all.  Whe Keira cried Kaylee would go over there and look at her and then run off.

After a few weeks had a past she started to warm up to her.  I think she realized that this new little person wasn't going anywhere and she would have to get use to her being there all the time.

Kaylee started wanting to help more with her and wanting to be next to her and even hold her.  Keira spent most of her days sleeping.  She was a very calm baby and didn't even cry unless she was hungry.  She had the quietest little cry I've ever heard.  I breastfeed both my girls for a month before the milk ran dry and then they were switched to formula.  She would sleep 4 hours a time at night which I thought was great.  I still had energy during the day and didn't need to take naps which I thought I was going to have to do when I had 2.

Keira is now 5 months old and I couldn't imagine not having her her with us.  She had made our family complete.  Her little personality is really starting to shine through.  She started lifting her head early and had great head control too.  She hated tummy time with a passion.  She started smiling at 6 weeks old, she did a belly giggle at 3 months old,  at 4 months old she started sitting up unassisted for about 30+ seconds, she tried her first taste of baby food at 4.5 months old and even slept through the night twice.  Oh how I wish she would do that more often.  She goes to bed around 9 and wakes up around 4 to eat and then goes back to bed until 8.  So that's nice.

So on my second Mother's Day as a mommy of two little girls I'm going to enjoy the day with my family.  I am so thankful that God choose me to be the mommy to these beautiful little girls.  They make me a proud & happy mama.    This mother's day I'm thankful that I get to stay home with my girls and watch all the new things they learn.  I wouldn't want to miss any of the milestones.

I am LOVING my girls with all my heart!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Splish Splash

Yesterday afternoon after nap time while our pool was being filled back up with water I decided to suit Kaylee up and let her go play in the water.  It was like 85 degrees outside so the cold water felt refreshing.  Kaylee had a good time and even the dogs enjoyed a little swimming as well.

I'm so glad to have water back in the pool.  This weekend we are getting things together for Kaylee's party next weekend.  I cant believe it's that's time already!  I'm going to be a mommy to a two year old.  This kid has got some major attitude when she doesn't get her way, I think I'm in trouble with her!  She got in trouble the other day cause I didn't give her something she wanted so she walked off and said "ahhh god, stupid mom"  I don't know where the heck she's learns this stuff from!!  Next week I may not post to many blogs cause I need to get my house totally cleaned and picked up for the big party.  I'm in charge of cleaning inside and the boys are in charge of outside clean up!

Kaylee hasn't been swimming since last summer so I think she was a little standoffish at first, so she sat on the step for a little bit, when she would walk around & the water was moving there was a lot of "whoa's".  But she had a good time playing.  Even Uncle Josh came in the pool to play with her.  When he would swim off to the deep end she would say "where'd josh go"

This weekend I need to go to Target to get Kaylee some floaties & Keira a floatie to sit in while in the pool.  She did really well last year wearing the floaties and swimming in the pool.

Uncle Josh was pretending to make waves & Kaylee loved it!!  I got both the girls new swimsuits cause Kaylee's swim suits from last year didn't fit anymore.  I was hoping they would fit Keira but no, they were to big.  So we headed to Target and they got some new suits.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo
We don't have any parties to attend to tonight.  I have a roast in the crock pot going since this morning and boy does it smell yummy in the house.

The girls and I are just hanging out today, the girls are dressed and I've been lounging around the house all day in my pajamas.  I'm not really feeling good today, for some reason I didn't sleep good at all last night and it wasn't even Keira who kept me awake.  She actually slept pretty good.  She only took 1 nap yesterday so she fell asleep early at 7 last night and woke up at 11 to eat and then woke up bright and early at 6am.  I think I got about 5 hours of sleep!!

Since Keira started on formula she has spit up A LOT!  I thought maybe I was feeding her to much or I wasn't sure why.  I just knew after every time she would eat this kid would spit up all over me or herself.  So when I took her in for her 4 month check up the dr asked how many oz she eating I said 6oz every 4-5 hours, well he told me I was feeding her to much and told me to give her 4oz every 2-3 hours, so I did that.  It didn't change anything she still spit up.  So I was talking to my mom and she suggested I try her on Soy formula.  She told me that my brother was the same way until she switched him to Soy.  So I went out and got some Soy formula and she's been on it for about a week and guess what.....NO SPITTING UP.  It's been great.  I can pick her up without being spit up on, its awesome!

Can I just say how much I love the editing site picnik.com.  Their editing stuff and these cool collages are pretty awesome.

This Sunday is Mother's Day and I'm happy to be spending it with Jason & our girls.  We're going to Jason's moms for breakfast and I'm not sure what the rest of the day has in store for us.

I cant believe my "baby" will be 2 in 8 days.  She is growing up so quickly and learning so many new things every day.  She is mimicing every word that everyone says!  I'm getting stuff ready for her birthday and I'm printing out pictures from 13 - 24 months and she has changed so much in a year.  Her hair has gotten so long and her chubby legs and arms have shrunk.  She's got major attitude now and likes to test her limits!  She is very independent and wants to do things by herself.  She doesn't get junk food which is why she loves her fruits, bananas and rasberries are her favorite!  She is looking more like a little girl than a baby.

Happy Mother's Day!

Embrace The Camera

It's time to embrace the camera with The Anderson Crew.

The first part of the day yesterday was pretty low key, we hung out around the house.  Kaylee played outside and Keira hung out/napped!  Now that the weather is back to being beautiful again you expect us to be at the park or outside playing.

For the next 2 weeks the weather is suppose to be in mid 80s, when it's that warm I'm thankful that we have a pool to cool off in!  Last summer Kaylee was a little fish, so I'm excited to see how she'll be this year.

After nap time the girls & I headed out to do some shopping.  I had some FREE $ to JCPenny's so I got an outfit each for the girls for FREE!  Went to the shoe store to get Kaylee a new pair of DC cause her foot is growing like a weed and has already out grown her shoes we got her for Christmas, but the good thing is that there still in nice shape that we'll just pass them down to Keira.  We went to Target to get Mother's Day cards and birthday cards and I got some clothes on the clearance section for Kaylee & the girls got new bathing suits.

I enjoyed my day with my girls.
