Keira is 18 months old

Keira Alexis-   You turned 18 months old on May 29th, but I wanted to wait to do your post until after your 18 month check up.  Is it really possible that your a year in a half already?!  Seriously where the heck does the time go...I wish it would slow down just a little bit, you and your sister are growing up so fast right before my eyes.  But I love every minute that I get to spend with you.  I am so glad that I choose to be a house wife and stay home with you guys cause I wouldn't want to miss a thing!  You and your sister are so different but yet alike in some ways and I love that about you guys.  You are 100% a mommy's girl and I cant leave a room without you running after me calling "mama mama".   I love you to the moon and back sweet girl!  Thank you for being such a sweet girl (at times you can be a stink), we love you!

18 MONTH STATS:
Weight: 22lbs 4oz (15%)
Height: 33" long (82%)
iron checked - good
recieved 3 shots :(

The dr's today took FOREVER!  We got there a little early to register and of course the dr was running behind.  Both girls had check ups today.  So the nurses finally called us back after an hour of waiting.  The girls got weighed and their height checked then the nurses led us to our room.  Kaylee was first where she got her hearing checked and passed and then took an eye exam and has 20/20 vision.  Then Keira's turn they checked her iron as well as Kaylee's and they both checked out good.  We then waited 20 minutes or so before the dr came in.  Up first Keira, which she was NOT in the mood to have the dr talk to her let alone touch her to check her out.  She checked out perfect and the dr put her chart outside cause she needed some shots.  Kaylee was up next and the dr was impressed that she's able to go to the bathroom and wipe all by herself (I just tought her a few days ago).  Plus the dr said she talks really well and really clearly.  Kaylee is good until she turns 4 when she has to come back for a check up

SLEEPING: Lately I've noticed that your nap is becoming shorter, its going from 3+ hours to 2-2.5 hours.  Which is still ok with me.  This past week in a half you have been waking up in the middle of the night, whinning a little bit and I wait 5 minutes or so before going into your room, usually you put yourself back to sleep.  But the thing that mommy is not really happy about is you waking up at 6:30 instead of 7:30 like you use to.  So maybe you can go back to sleeping in a little bit, mommy would appriciate it!  thank you.

TEETHING:  OH BOY....can those last 4 canine teeth please just come in already!!  Sorry sister but you are the worst teether ever!  So I am so glad that almost all your teeth are in and you can be that happy girl that you normally are when your not teething.  You have 12 teeth and are working on all 4 canines right now.

FAVORITE TOYS:  you love to read books, you always have a book in your hand (my little book worm), you love to play with your mega blogs and build things on the mega block table, your into cars and you cannot go anywhere without ORANGIE (see above picture of her sleeping with the orange thing).

FAVORITE FOODS:  oh kid you eat anything and everything.  There is only 3 things that I've found that you don't like (olives, onions and cabbage).  You are such a good eater and I hope that it doesn't change.  Sissy use to be a good eater until she turned 2 and then became picky.  So help mom out and continue to eat good ok.  But some of your favorite foods are grapes, fishies, waffles and hot dogs.

CLOTHING: 18-24 month clothing.  Size 5 shoe.  Behind the door in your new room is our huge bow collection and when your done getting dressed you always point to the bows and then to your hair.  We went shopping in sissy's summer clothes and you have a whole new wardrobe for this summer.  Some of those clothes are 2T which are big on you.

HAND:  when you color or use a pen or a fork/spoon you put it in your left hand, so I guess we'll what you end up choosing.

NEW WORDS:  boy have you taken off in talking department.  Last month you were saying only a few words and it was making me a little nervous although sissy was doing most of your talking for you!  But this month you have just taken off with a ton of new words and even sentences.  HELLO, MOMMY I WANNA EAT, JUICE PEES, CHEESE, PAPA, MINE, BALLOON, SPONGEBOB, CARS, JEN, DORA, BOOTS, NO AND WHERE'S MY DADA

THINGS YOU'VE BEEN UP TO:

* we enjoyed our second Mother's Day together!  Thank you for making me a mama.

* you got to experience your second move.  The first time we moved you were like 2 months old and did so well this time now that your older we had to come up with tricks and different ideas to keep you and sissy contained.  The DVD player in the truck worked awesome!  We would roll all the windows down and put a movie on for you and sissy and would pack the car and then unpack the car, worked out great!

* you like to make some silly faces which always makes mommy laugh!  You have such a fun personality and I love watching it change as you get older!

* you had an awesome time celebrating sissy's birthday.  You enjoyed the bounce house for a little bit but you did sleep most of the party, but you needed the nap.  But you had a blast in the bounce house.

* you like brushing your teeth and we brush 2 times a day (or try to at least).  We do always brush at night before bed, mommy brushes first and then you "brush".

* you let sissy now when she does something you don't like!

* you like going on the boat and splashing in the water

* you love to go into your room by yourself and play.  You've spent 45 minutes or more in there by yourself playing.  Sissy sometimes like to go in and bug you!

* you still take a paci and nap and bedtime.  Even though this pic about says differently, sissy pulled it out of your bed and gave it to you, I tried to take it away and you threw a HUGE fit!

* you and sissy like to play with her new dollhouse together

* you are happiest when your outside playing.  You like to go for wagon rides and play in the dirt.

* you become mezmerized when we put on the movie CARS or CARS 2.  its so funny

* you like to follow sissy around and do everything that she does, and then get mad when you cant do the things she can!  You are my fearless one, you'll try it even though mommy tells you NO.

HAPPY 18 MONTHS SWEET GIRL!!!

KAYLEE HAD HER 3 YEAR CHECK UP TODAY AS WELL.
KAYLEE'S 3 YEAR STATS:
Weight: 29lbs (33%)
Height: 37.25" long (39%)

I swear this kid has been 29lbs for the last year, she has not gained or lost.  I would think she would weigh more since she eats all day but I guess when you never stop moving or running its hard to keep weight on.  The dr said she is PERFECT and doesn't have to be seen for a year!

I've been the worst blogger!

* I know it's totally unlike me to go days and days without posting, but I have a good excuse.
We've been finishing up moving and cleaning our old house and trying to get all settled into our new house.  We have been living at our new house for almost 3 weeks and it has been great.  Just lots of unpacking and trying to get thing organized.  This house is a lot smaller than our old house so trying to find a place for everything has been a little challenging but we're making it work!

* I haven't picked up my good camera in what seems like forever.
I picked it up to take pictures of the girls having some chalk fun but that was almost a week ago.
I attempted to take Keira's 18 month pictures yesterday but she wasn't having it at all.  But Kaylee was in the mood to take some pictures and I was able to get some cute ones of her!
Her 18 month post will come tomorrow after her & Kaylee's check ups.
I had a dr appt yesterday and Kaylee wanted to get weighed and my skinny girl on weighs 29lbs!
I'm not sure why she doesn't weigh more cause the kid grazes all day and for the most part eats all her dinner.  But she's always running or doing something, so I guess she has a high matabalizm.

* After 2 weeks of having cable and only being able to watch movies off of our computer, daddy finally ran the cable to the TV so that we can now watch TV.  YAY, which means I get the computer back and its not being occupied by movies all day long.

* We are excited and counting down the days till we are on our week beach vacation with Jason's parents.  We are going to Capitola CA and our hotel is right on the beach.  We're going Monday - Friday and grandma has a lot of fun things planned for us to do.  One of the days we are taking the girls to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for the 1st time, so I'm excited and so is Kaylee.  We'll also be heading over to the Santa Cruz (a short 10 min drive) to the boardwalk (were gonna go at night when everything is all lit up).  She has some other stuff planned and then lots of time on the beach and maybe in the water depending on how brave the girls are!

Capitola, CA

Santa Cruz Boardwalk, CA

* My parents arrived in CA last night and will be here till Saturday.  They are finishing up the stuff for the sale of their house.  My mom and little brother are coming over today after nap time to play.  Its been a couple months since we've last seem them, so it will be nice.  So there will be a post about our visit with them today probably tomorrow.  This weekend we will be busy again, we have to go back to our old house and make some dump loads, the boys have metal to recycle and I have A LOT of stuff to go to Goodwill.  Hopefully we can get that all done in one day so that we can have a fun day cause its suppose to be close to 90 this weekend so we might be going out on the boat to cool off!  The girls love going on the boat and going fast.

* Up coming posts:
- Our visit with Mimi and Uncle Justin (Thursday 5-31-12)
- Keira's 18 month post (Friday 6-1-12)
- My exciting news (Monday 6-4-12)

Chalk Fun & some randomness

Yesterday before nap time Kaylee decided she wanted to open her new chalk she bought with her birthday money and to have her and sissy go outside and play.  So we went outside and played with chalk.  The girls always enjoy playing chalk together.  Kaylee wanted mommy to join in on the fun and draw a flower garden and write their names and have them sit by them.  So we enjoyed the warm breezy weather outside before heading in for naps.

* Last night Jason's dad and grandma came over for dinner and to check out our new house.  The reason for the visit was to help put Kaylee's new big girl bed together.  Jason's dad and grandma got Kaylee the bed for her birthday.  She was so surprised when it was done and kept saying "I love my new bed".  Since Kaylee was 20 months old she's been sleeping in a queen size bed with the box spring and mattress on the floor cause we had an extra one.  Well for her 3rd birthday I thought it was about time that we get her a real bed.  She slept good in it last night and she has her new bedding on it that my dad got her.  While we were ordering the bed Jason's dad decided that he would just go ahead and get Keira's bed while he was at so that they matched.  Keira also has the same bedding (its reversable).  I'll be taking better pictures with my good camera once I get the girls room all decorated.

* A few days after Kaylee's party, Kaylee decided that she wanted to go shopping with her birthday money.  Since I needed to go to Target anyways I said ok.  I got the girls ready and we headed to Target for Kaylee to do some shopping.  We stopped off at the clothes first and she picked out 3 new shirts, 2 pairs of shorts and a cute dress.  We then headed to the undies department where she picked out some Dora underwear.  Next stop TOYS...she wanted to get a game so she decided on Candy Land, picked out a Lalaloopsy doll and some colors books with new crayons, she also got some new chalk.  I told her she didn't have to spend all her money that she could keep some and come back later to get more stuff.  She wanted to get everything she picked out and she still has money left to spend at a later date.

* The other day Keira was in such a crabby mood.  She woke up in the crabby mood and the day just seemed to get worse from there.  I thought maybe after taking a nap she would be in a better mood but nope.  I think it has something to do with her last 4 canine teeth trying to come through.  She's been waking up every night this week around 4am.  I will be so glad when those teeth come in cause then she'll be done teething for awhile!

*  We have nothing really planned for this holiday weekend.  We will be moving the rest of our stuff out of our old house, we have to have everything out by the end of this weekend.  Not really what I wanted to be doing this weekend but whatever there's not much stuff left.  I hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend and thank you to you to the people who serve our country and the people who've died while serving!

* I have some exciting news to fill you guys in on next week so keep an eye out for that!!

* I've been such a bad blogger, I haven't blogged all week.  I have a good excuse though...we got our cable hooked up last week but we've watching movies off of our computer since getting cable because Jason has to run the cable wire and hasn't had time to do it yet.  So since our computer is being occupied by the girls watching movies or cartoons I cant really blog.  So we should have our cable run and the box back up and running this weekend so I can get back to blogging.  So bare with me!

Kaylee's Toy Story Birthday Bash

(JUST TO WARN YOU NOW, THIS WILL BE A LONG POST WITH LOTS OF PICS)

On Saturday afternoon the day before Kaylee's birthday bash we headed over to Jason's moms with decorations in hand to set up for the big day.  The girls watched a movie while grandma and I decorated inside and daddy helped uncle Patrick clean up outside.  After cleaning and getting all the decor set up we headed home, the girls were very much ready for a nap!  While they napped I made out my shopping list of all the food and drinks we would need for Sunday.  Once the girls woke up we headed to the store and then ordered pizza for dinner.   After the girls went to bed I got working on BAKING, I made the ice cream cone cupcakes (thank you pinterest) and the cake pops.  I was finally done and was so ready for bed at 11:15.

I guess I was excited for all the excitment of the day because I was awake at 5:30, I told myself you need to go back to sleep cause today is going to be a long day.  I fell back asleep till 7:15 when I knew it was time to wake up and get everyone ready for the day and also to surprise Kaylee with the gift we got her.  We got her a doll house for her birthday, which she ABSOLUTELY loved!!

So the girls played with the dollhouse while mommy & daddy got ready.  Once we were done I got Kaylee ready while daddy got Keira dressed.  We then loaded up all the stuff we would need to take to grandma's house.  That morning I needed to frost both the cupcakes and the marshellows.  Once we got to grandma's the guys were outside setting up the bounce house, so the girls stood at the door in ahhh and were more than ready to go outside and jump.  We got to grandma's around 9:15am and the party was due to start at 11am.  I was finished decorating the dessert and setting it all up I took all my decor pictures before everyone got there. (all decor details will be at the end of this post).

After I was all finished, I decided since the girls waited so patiently to go outside that we would go jump in the bounce house and have some fun before everyone arrived.  They LOVED it!!  Mommy got in there and bounced a little bit too.

Kaylee decided since they didn't have a Toy Story bounce house t
hat she wanted a CARS one instead

LOVING this picture of them!

After bouncing for a little bit Grandpa wanted to give Kaylee the gift he had been working on for a couple days prior to the party.  He build something that would hold the girls swings and the tire swing.  Both the girls and the dog loved the swings (yes grandma's dog rides on the tire swing).  So we swang for awhile before moving back into the bounce house to jump with grandma and then take an apple juice break!

After our juice break more guests started arriving and back into the bounce house Kaylee and her 2nd cousin Scarlett went to have some fun.  By now it's getting hot outside and everytime they would come out of the bounce they would be so red and super sweaty!  ICKY!

from left: great grandma Alice, Grandpa, Great Grandpa Dennis & Uncle Patrick

more guests from left: Jen (the back of her), Justin, Mike, step mom Teresa & my dad

Its about 12:15 by now so I set up the pack n play for Keira in grandma's room and lay her down to take a nap.  It was also time for everyone to come inside and get lunch.  So for about 45 minutes or so it was loud in the house and Keira could hear everyone and she was not having her nap at all.  It took her a good hour and 15 minutes before she finally fell asleep.  After eating some lunch and waiting 30 minutes all the kids put on their swim suits for some swimming!

I've taken this same picture every year on her birthday with daddy.  If I had my hard drive unpacked I make a little collage.  I can see how much she's grown cause she use to have to look up to daddy and now she's taller than him.

Kaylee with my dad

The kids had a great time swimming and around 3 we headed inside to OPEN PRESENTS. During this time Keira was still taking a nap, so she was missing out on everything!  But I am glad that she got to nap cause she would have been a stinker if she didn't!  Kaylee has a few presents that are on their way.  Jason's dad got her a new bed that will be here on Wednesday and Jason's grandma got her a mattress to go with it.  She got over a $100 in money so we'll be going shopping for some more summer clothes/sandals and some toys that she wants.

Once we opened all the presents it was time to grab dessert and to head back outside to eat it so that the little kids didn't make a mess with the green & blue frosting.  So the kids picked their dessert and headed outside to eat it.  Kaylee had 2 cake pops and later had a cupcake!  Little piggy, but hey your birthday only comes around once a year so might as well enjoy every minute of it, right!?!  She kept telling me through out the day "MOM THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!" After dessert it was back into the bounce house and this time daddy and uncle Josh were in there with all the little kids acting like little kids themselves.  Before getting to hot and heading back to swim some more before people started leaving.

After all the guests left around 4 Keira decided to wake up.  She had a little snack before we headed outside to clean up and jump a little more before the bounce house left.  Once we finished cleaning up I looked outside and noticed that the sky got really ugly looking and Jason's mom said that the eclipse was happening.  We looked at the newspaper just in time to find out that we had 2 minutes before it hit where we were in CA.  Jason got the welding mask and we all took a look, it was pretty cool.  We then loaded everything into the car and made our way home to figure out what we were doing for dinner.  We had a late Jack in the Box dinner and at 8:15 the girls were in bed.  We soon followed.

I just want to thank everyone who came out to help us celebrate Kaylee's birthday.  She had a blast and I know that having everyone there just made it that much more special.  As far as all the party decor I pretty much made all of it.  I made all the desserts on the thing I bought was the little bins that the cake pops sat in at Target in the $1.00 bin a couple months ago.  This was by far the best time we've had a the girls' birthday parties, not that any other time wasn't as fun but I think as the girls get older their parites will become more fun!  Thank you again everyone!!!

Now on to finish moving the rest of our stuff out of our other house and wait for the arrival of my parents.  My parents and little brothers are coming for a visit from CO on May 29th to June 2nd.  Should be a good time!
