Weekend Wrap Up

Our Saturday morning started out with being able to sleep in till 8:30 and it was amazing. We got up and daddy made cinnamon rolls for breakfast. We watched a little cartoons before getting a text from grandma around 10:30 to say Kaylee was on her way home. Kaylee showed up bearing gifts from the farmers market like colored carrots, raspberries and a butterfly to go in the front yard. Before Jason's mom left we had her come take a look our fruit trees we have in the backyard to see if stuff was ready to be picked. We have a plum tree (the plums will be ready in a week), apples (not ready), peaches (not ready), apricots (we picked a bunch and I'm going to make a pie) and lemons which Jason's mom took some home. The girls pick apricots at Jason's moms so they knew which ones were good and which ones weren't. After picking fruit we said good bye to grandma and decided that we would go out on the boat and have some fun, by 10am it was already 80, so we all got ready and headed out. We stopped and got some lunch and launched the boat. The girls love going fast on the boat. Our friend has a house on an island out there so we stopped by to hang out for awhile. Kaylee met a little girl named Harlow that was born 2 days after Kaylee and the two of them were the same height and weight. They had so much in common. All 3 girls had a blast playing together. After 3 hours of playing we decided to head back.  The girls had so much fun that they fell asleep on the boat, they slept for the 30 minute ride back to the dock and then continued to sleep while we wiped the boat down and got all our stuff together.

By the time we got home it was time to eat so we ordered some thai food for dinner.  After dinner we loaded up into the car cause I wanted to go to Joanns to get some fabric to make baby girl some blankets.  We had to go Saturday cause my coupon expired that day.  We spent 45 minutes in the fabric store which I could have spent a lot longer in there and I picked out two fabrics, had them cut, paid for them and headed home.  By this time is was after the girls bed time so when we got home the girls went straight to bed.  But we had a great Saturday.

On Sunday it was going to be a LAZY day or I was going to try to be anyways.  Jason and my brother had to go do some stuff for thier trip so they left around 8am.  The girls and I got up around 8:15am and had some breakfast.  Since I neglected doing the dishes for a few days I needed to do them.

So after starting a big load of dishes I decided to wash my fabric I got from the night before.  After starting that the girls and I snuggled on the couch to watch some cartoons for a little bit before heading out in the back for a little bit to play.  When it got to hot outside we came back in and did some coloring. (I didn't get any pictures of us being outside or coloring)  It was then time for a much needed nap cause Kaylee was having a hard time listening that morning.  So the girls went down for a nap.  While they slept I ate some lunch, watched some TV and worked on a little DIY project for their room.  I'm not going to show any pictures until its all done (but if you follow me on pinterest then you saw a sneak peek).  I then took a little nap and after taking a 4 hour nap the girls finally woke up.  But during nap time I got a call from daddy to say that they were going to go out on the boat again and asked if the girls and I wanted to go, I declined this time.  Once the girls woke up we had some apricots for a snack.  Daddy said he was going to be home around 6 (which he was).  I hadn't gone shopping so he stopped and picked up some dinner for us on his way home.

While eating dinner we watched some Shrek 2.  After dinner the girls were NOT listening and arguing so there lots of time outs for them.  I then decided to seperate them and make Keira sit on the couch with me and Kaylee would sit in her chair next to daddy.  We had quiet time for the 30 minutes before they needed to go to bed.  We had a great weekend and we're trying to soak all our time in with daddy cause he leaves on Wednesday.

Each morning when Kaylee wakes up she comes into our room to lay in bed with me and watch cartoon until Keira gets up.  Well on this lovely Monday morning  she didn't come into my room right away.  She decided to make a pit stop to the kitchen where we have a box that has some stuff that needs to be unpacked.  She then came into my room looking like a spotted leopard on one arm.  She nicely woke me up saying "mommy look I'm baby jaguar"  What a great way to wake up!  So after telling her that she knows better that she's not suppose to color on herself she climbed up into our bed to watch some cartoons.  When we got up to go eat some breakfast I had noticed she took almost all the stuff out of this box and had colored with markers all over the floor.  I guess it's a good thing that the markers are washables markers or this kid would be in serious trouble!!

(she also has marker drawings on her leg and foot)

    1. Its funny talking about it now but I couldn't remember if those markers were washable or not. She got them as a gift. It took a lot of scrubing with a wash cloth to get it off of her!

I neglect my dishes often, I hate doing them!

  3. It sounds like you guys had a great weekend. I'm super jealous about all your fruit trees you have! The only tree we have is an apple tree, but it's a crab apple tree so the apples really aren't that great. I love the photo of the girls sleeping on the boat..it's adorable!!! =)

Having all that fruit in the backyard makes it nice. The girls love all the fruits out there so that makes it even more nice.

The girls love going on the boat and it's nice to know that if we go out around nap time that they'll take a nap on it.

  5. Love the owl fabric! Mackenzie has owls in her room and I just got her owl sheets. I may have to get some owl fabric to use in the quilt I want to make her. Can't wait to see the finished blankets!
