Wedding Wednesday - Details

With my wedding a little over a yesr away, i might change my mind on some of the details of our wedding.  Im so excited for the big day and its so hard not to spend hours sesrching pinterest for ideas.  The last wedding update I did, I had a rustic theme going on.  Well Jason returned from Texas and didn't like my rustic feel what's so ever.  So I deleted all my rustic pins from pinterest and started pinning new stuff.  We are going for a simple but pretty feel.

WEDDING DATE:  YAY, we've set a date.  Sorry I cant reveal the date just yet.  We will be getting our engagement photos done in October {this year} and once we send out our Save the Dates, I will post it and our pictures.

COLORS: since our wedding is a little over a year away I might change my mind on the colors but as of right now, we are going with WHITE, GREY & KELLY GREEN

MOH/BRIDESMAIDS:
I have my bridal party picked out, now I just need to ask them.  I made up a cute way to ask and after they've been asked I'll post all about it.  Jason has all his people picked out too and just informed me that he's already asked his guys.  Jason and I talked and we decided that we didn't want our girls to all wear the same bridesmaid dress, so they get to pick their dresses, I want chiffon dresses and the color I'm not sure on yet. The guys will be in grey suits, so I don't know if it will be to much grey if the girls wore grey too. So I'm thinking green. {all these dresses can be found HERE}

FLOWER GIRL:
Our 3 little beauties will be our flower girls.  I have found a few different dresses for the girls and then I came across this adorable dress.  I am in love with this dress.  The headband is perfect, I would change the red to be green and white instead {the dress can be found HERE & the headband can be found HERE}

DECOR:
I have a thing for chalkboards, so I will be incorporating a few different chalkboards into our wedding.  I haven't quite decided on what color flowers I want.  I started out just wanting white hydrangeas only,  then I added some green into them and now I think I want to add a pop or two of color. I cant wait to see my vision come to life.

CAKE:
I am in love with this cake and the little detail they have on it.

WEDDING FAVORS:
I've had a hard time decided on wedding favors.  We didn't want to spend an arm n leg on favors but we did want something to hand out to our guest to remember our special day.  In the beginning I picked flower seeds for people to plant {Jason informed me that no one would plant them}, so then I thought how about kisses with our stickers on the bottom {too expensive}, and now I've decided on matches {everyone uses matches} {you can get the matches HERE}

THE DRESS:
Its been pretty easy narrowing down what style dress I want.  I want a fit n flare with a sweetheart neckline, something that's more simple and that doesn't have to much sparkle.  I found a totally plain dress that I actually kinda love {4th one from the left} and I've been searching around on etsy for a belt to jazz it up a bit.  I'm excited to start trying dresses on.  If I stick with green I love the idea of the pop of color with the shoes.  So whatever color we go with I will be getting that color shoe.

HAIR & MAKEUP:
I've decided on a half up half down hairstyle, either of these two ideas is really pretty. {Jason found a picture of me with blonde hair, like the girl on the right & was like I miss you with blonde hair, so I may or may not have blonde hair for the wedding}  With my makeup I want to keep it natural looking.  I don't wear a lot of makeup now and on my wedding day I don't want to look like a totally different person with makeup that doesn't look good on me.

GUYS TUX:
The guys will wear steel grey tux without the jacket, like this with a green colored tie.  I love the more casual look for the guys.

HONEYMOON:
We haven't decided what were doing yet.  At first we talked about going to Hawaii with the whole family and having Jason's mom and step dad join us.  We would go for a week and they would be there to have fun with us and then watch the girls for 2-3 days while we did our own thing.  Then we talked about Florida, then we talked about staying close to home and taking a road trip to San Diego for 3 days.  We talked about staying close to home, to save money for buying a house!  So right now we are up in the air with honeymoon plans.

  4. There's nothing more exciting than planning a wedding! You have a beautiful vision and it's going to be awesome to see it all come together.

    I wore a (long) bridesmaid dress very similar to the top left picture. It was by far my favorite bridesmaid dress (and I've been a b-maid six times) and all of us were different shapes and it was so flattering on everyone!

    The flower girl dress is to die for! Precious!

  5. Love the flower girl dress, and the guys without jackets :-)

    We skipped wedding favors at my wedding. Most favors I've ever gotten I have either thrown away or eaten. The edible ones were nice, but I wouldn't have given a second thought if they weren't there at all, and the couple would have saved money. I say skip them and spend the money on something else for the wedding! :-P
