"I never want to do that again!" says Kaylee about jumping off the diving board

During swim lessons today, it started out just like every other day has.

Get in the water, play red light green light, float on your back, swim with the noodle and practice going under the water.  But today was a little different.  We did do all those things listed above but then the teacher had all the kids get out of the pool and put life jackets on.  It made me wonder, what the heck are they doing?

 

So as they walked to the deep end of the pool, we got up and followed.

All the little girls were scared and very hesitant on wanting to jump off the diving board.

I pulled Kaylee aside and told her that she was going to be ok, that her teacher was in the water and would catch her, that nothing was going to happen to her and to be brave.  She was still very hesitant and crying, I told her it would be ok and that daddy and grandma would love to see her jump off.  I kinda bribed her a little bit, I told her if she jumped off the diving board that we would get Jack in the Box for lunch.  That brightened her day a little bit.

 

She walked up the stairs on the diving board and with the help of the life guard screamed as she walked down to the end to jump off.  She didn't really jump off the life guard lifted her and let her go.  After she got out of the water she told me "I NEVER WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN" 

 

I am proud of her for doing it, I know she was probably scared, she is my more cautious one and when she doesn't want to do something she finds scary she WONT do it.  I wanted her to do this to show her that nothing bad was going to happen to her and that her teacher would be right there to catch her.

We have 4 more days of swim lessons before they are over.

At the beginning of August Kaylee will be attending the last 3 weeks of summer school before school starts on August 26th.  I'm thinking that while Kaylee is in school I'm gonna have Keira taking swimming lessons.  It will be good for her too and Keira is fearless and loves the water.  Then next year they can take lessons together.  It's fun for them, its nice cause it wears Kaylee out for good naps and she meets little kids her age.

Wednesday Randoms...

* Where do I begin...remember back when I had BIG EXCITING NEWS and told you we were moving to Texas?  Well after Jason was gone from us for a whole month training, he went in for his interview {not with the person he was suppose to} and he told him it was going to be a waiting game and he would get a call.  After hearing that Jason came home and returned to work working for his step dad while he waited.  2 weeks passed and we sat down and talked about how long we should wait for him to get to get that call before moving on.  Well he waited a whole month and didn't hear anything, in that time he got another job offer here in CA.  So now we had the decision to make...do we wait it out longer for the job in Texas or does he take the job in California?  We again sat down and talked and made the decision to pass up the job in Texas and he would take the job here in CA.  I am a little bummed about not moving, I was looking forward to a new adventure but on the other hand I'm glad to be staying right where we are.  Almost all of our family is here in CA and Jason's mom is a huge help with the girls. 


* Since we are not moving to TX anymore and our rental lease is up, we will be moving into a different house.  We are lucky enough to be moving into a brand new home that Jason's mom and step just built.  The house should be done in a couple weeks and we will be moving in at the end of this month.  I am so excited cause everything in the house is new and we wont have to worry about having any problems with anything. {in our rental now, we have had nothing but problems with this house since we've moved in}.  I will be taking pictures before we move in and pictures once we get everything all set up and decorated!  We will be staying in this house until we save up enough to buy a house probably sometime in late 2014 or early 2015.


*  The wedding planning is going good.  Right now we are deciding on a caterer, we have 3 people we are looking at and we will be deciding at the end of this week.  We will be going to look at a church for our ceremony and reception.  Jason helped build this church with his step dad.  I'm excited to go check it out and brainstorm some ideas on how I want to set it up.  I found the dress I want, we have 14 months until the big day and its on sale.  I might just order it now.  A couple months back I found the dress I wanted and right now it's out of my size online and in the store, so I don't want that to happen with this dress.

*  Kaylee had her second day of swim lessons yesterday and she again did awesome.  I think she was more confident than the first day.  She wanted to be first in everything they did.  She tells me after each class how fun she had and how she cant wait to go back the next day.  Keira does really well sitting there for 30 minutes {eating a snack to keep her distracted} and watching Kaylee.  The first day Keira got really upset that she didn't swim.  Next year both girls will do swimming lessons.


*  I've started getting ideas for Kendall's first birthday.  Yes I'm that mom, but to be fair there is only 3 in a half months till the big day.  I start partying planning early so I can make sure I get everything done in time.  The theme of her party is elephants & the colors are pink, grey & white.  Here's a sneak peek...

 

Kaylee swim lessons day one

Today was the first day of swim lessons for Kaylee.

I was a little worried about how she would do.  She loves to swim at grandma's but she always has floaties on.  Today they had no floaties or anything.  I was worried she would be to scared and cry.  But my big girl surprised me and she had a blast.  She got a little scared when they had to get out and jump in holding the instructors hands, but she did it.

 

She said she had fun, which is good cause she has swim lessons the rest of this week and half of next week.  I'm a proud mama.

4th of July fun!

Our plan for the day was to run a few errands in the morning and then head to Jason's grandparents house for the day.  We all got up and got ready, loaded up in the car, dropped some toys that the girls decided to donate at goodwill and stopped by a furniture store that was having a sale {we are looking for a new couch for our new house}.  We found a couch we really liked but we have one place to look at first before deciding which one to get.

 

We made it to Jason's grandparents around 12 and miss Kendall was more than ready to lay down for a nap.  So while she was sleeping the girls played downstairs in the playroom.  Once the baby woke up everyone came upstairs to play and have some fun.  Grandma has a lot of fun props to use for picture taking.

 

We had a great time at his grandma's and celebrating Jason's grandpas birthday.

We didn't get to see fireworks cause they were to far away.

Since the girls didn't take a nap they were asleep within 10 minutes of us leaving.

All in all great 4th of July fun.
