Keira 12 months old

I still cant believe that your already 12 months old and your birthday has come and gone.  The day went by to fast but we had a great time together.

You've been up to a lot this month.  You are so close to walking.  When your standing you pick up one foot and move it foward and that's as far as you've made it.  But everytime you do it we clap with excitment!

books, babies, cell phones & bouncy balls

puffs, fishies, MacNCheese, peas, carrots, lil crunchies, ritz crackers, cheerios & rice

being pulled in the wagon, monkey walking on the grass, eating, books, playing with Kaylee in the tent & dancing!!

12-18 months Your mainly in 18 month stuff cause the 12 month stuff tends to be to short cause your so tall.  The 18 month stuff is big in the waist but fits good in the length.

4 - You have 4 teeth and it looks like you might have 2 more coming in on top
8:30- 8.  You have been sleeping so good.  Since moving you into your room with your sister you seem to be sleeping so much better.  You wake up around 8am, take your one and only nap from 12-3:30 and then go to bed at 8.

Uh Oh, dada, iss (kiss), oh's this, baby, hi

walking with your push toys, using your sign language (more, milk, eat & night night), standing alone, standing up from sitting position and then dancing!

You are so close to walking and I can tell you want to but don't quite have the confidence yet.  I'm sure it doesn't help that when you stand up your sister runs at you super fast trying to tackle you down!  You've gotten really good at popping right up from the floor, I'm just waiting for you to take those first little steps!

* you celebrated your 1st Halloween this year.  You & sissy went as M&Ms and looked ADORABLE.  You rode around in the wagon and had a great time.  Next year will be so much more fun for you!

* you have been babbling a lot.  It's so cute to hear you "talk".  You have started saying more can now say- MAMA, BABA, ISS(KISS), ISSY(SISSY), BABY, OH'S THIS, HI & WOO WOO.  Daddy's still wondering when your gonna say DADA!

* You are using your sign language which is awesome!  You can now sign NITE NITE, EAT, MORE & MILK.  Teaching you baby sign language has helped in knowing what you want and not having to guess.

* You are a little dancing machine.  I think a career in dancing might be in your future!  I think ballet are in your near future though.  How cute would it be to have you and your sister in ballet together!  I can see all the cuteness now!

* We introduced 2 new things to you this month, the sippy cup which you drink out of and think its the coolest thing ever and whole've been drinking whole milk for about 2 weeks now and love it!  Even though you were on soy formula, you've done fine with switching to whole milk.

* You are getting the cutest curls in the back and mommy LOVES it.

* You started standing up alone from the sitting position and as soon as your up you start dancing.  Lately you've holding a toy and standing think your to cool when you have toys in your hand and stand up.

* When mommy ask's you "where's the baby?" you point to yourself and then you point to the pictures of yourself on the wall, then will say "sissy & baby".  Such a smart girl

* Mommy just put a pillow into your bed and you LOVE it.  When I check on you before I go to bed your still on your pillow and most mornings your still on it too.  Your getting to be such a big girl! (11/17/11)

* You celebrated your 1st last holiday this year.  We celebrated your 1st Thanksgiving 11/24/11.

12 Month Stats
Weight: will update 12-1-11
Height: will update 12-1-11
Diaper Size: 4
Shoe Size: 4
Hair: Light Brown

Your little personality has really been shining through.  You are such a happy girl unless its time to eat, then you get very impatient....kinda like you haven't eatin in like a week impatient!  When you don't get your way or have to get your diaper changed, you've just started  throwing little tantrums.

You love to play peek a boo.  You cover your eyes with your hands and wait for me to say "where's Keira?" before you take your hands off your eyes and say "boo".  It's so cute and you get so excited when we play.  You absolutely LOVE to dance!  You will dance to any type of music, whether it be a commerical, music on the radio, cartoons or one of your toys!

Even though your first year has seem to fly by so fast I have enjoyed every minute of it!
You bring such joy to our lives every day
Thank you for being such a calm and happy baby.
You and your sister are so different and it's been so much fun being able to see your different personalities shine through.

Mommy, Daddy & sissy love you so much!

Happy 1st Birthday Keira

Keira Alexis-

On this day ONE year ago today at 10:43pm after 12 hours of labor you finally made your scary but wonderful grand enterance into this world.  That day was the best day of my life.  You completed our family and I thank god everyday that he chose me to be your mama.

As I sit here pondering the words to write.  Your first year has come way to fast.  I often asked for time to slow down so I can enjoy you this small for a little while longer, but it has yet to get back to me!

You have grown into a very loving and sweet 1 year old.  I can sit here today and smile on all of your big girl accomplishments and our fun memories.  Your growing up into such a beautiful little girl.  You went from being my tiny baby into my toddler, but I don't care how big you get cause you'll always be my baby.

I am so thankful that I've been given the opporunity to stay home with you and that I didn't miss a beat.  I am so proud of you.  You are a sweet, sassy, loving, independent mommy's girl!

Keira's Birthday Party

Keira's birthday party was a great success.
It was so awesome to celebrate her first year with family & friends.
I still cant believe that my baby is ONE (well almost - real birthday is Nov. 29th)
Dispite not getting a nap at her normal time she was still my happy girl!

I did all of my baking and decorating on Friday.
It made things so much easier on me
Kaylee left on Friday around 3 to go to Grandma's house and spent the night
While the girls napped on Friday I was able to bake the cupcakes, bake Keira's big cupcake, make muddy buddies and make the rice krispies.  I was so glad that I decided to make everything the day before, it was a lot less stressful on me the day of her party.

After Keira went to bed, I started doing all of the decorating

Saturday morning Keira slept in till 9am.  Mommy on the other hand was up bright and early when daddy's alarm went off at 6am so that he could go downstairs to start the crock pot.  We decided that for food we were going to have a taco bar, so we made groud beef and in the crock pot made pork tenderloin (YUM).  It takes 6 hours in the crock pot, so we started it at 6 to have it ready for lunch at 12.  Jason's mom arrived at 11:30 with Kaylee so I could finish getting her ready.  I finally got the Keira dressed right as a bunch a people showed up.

I'm so mad that I didn't get a picture of our whole food set up.  But it was really good!
After everyone finished eating and talking for a little bit, we decided to do cake cause a few people had to leave.  So we logged onto Skype so that my mom and little brother could sing along with us.  It sucks that my parents weren't able to be here.  Keira didn't demolish her cake this time like she did when we took her smash cake pictures, but she still did make a mess!

After being finished with her cake, she had a quick sink bath and got dressed again.
We said good bye to a few friends and family that had to leave.
We then brought all the presents into the living room
I think by this point Keira was tired, she was so mellow and not really into opening her presents
She did want to play with every toy and didn't really care about opening the next gift, at one point she was getting upset and crawled away to go look at her toys, so mommy & kaylee opened the rest of her gifts.

After we opened gifts most of our families was about 3 and Keira was so ready for a nap, so I decided to put her down for a nap.  While Keira took her nap we opened all her gifts and Kaylee tested them all out for her.  Keira woke up and when we came downstairs and she got so excited when she saw all her presents unboxed!  She had a great time playing with all her new toys before going to bed!

All in all we had an awesome day

Thanksgiving: Part II

We had a great Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours

Don't forget to check out my Thanksgiving Part 1 post!
Tomorrow is the BIG party and I am so excited!

Thanksgiving: Part I

We celebrated our 1st of 3 Thanksgivings on Tuesday with Jason's mom, step dad, 2 brothers (Patrick - on break from school @ Chico State & Antheney), Alyssa, Jason, the girls & I.  Jason's brother Antheney has to work the rest of the week which is why we had it on Tuesday.  We headed over to Jason's moms around 11:30, the girls played for a little bit and then I tried to put them down for a nap.

Which didn't go to well, cause there was to much noise going on.  Keira slept a whole 45 minutes before waking up crying.  So while Jason, his step dad, mom and 2 brothers played RISK, I tried putting Keira back to sleep.  After 45 minutes of patting her back, rocking her and her fading in and out of sleeping and not sleeping....she FINALLY fell back asleep.  So I waited about 10 minutes before getting up to put her in the pack n play.  I would have held her but I had to pee!  Well I had no such luck as soon as I layed her down she woke back up!  So her nap yesterday was a total of ONE HOUR!
The turkey got put on the BBQ around 2pm and cooked away.  They continued to play the RISK game and Grandma took the girls for a walk, giving mommy a much needed break!

We had a good time looking through old baby books of Jason and his little brothers from when they were little.  It was funny cause there was a school picture of a bunch of us from like 4th grade....LOL

We were a little worried cause the turkey was cooking a little faster than we wanted it to while we waited for Antheney's finance Alyssa to get there.  It all worked out though cause she made it just in time about 5 minutes before food was ready!

The food looked awesome and I couldn't wait to eat it!  The turkey turned out AWESOME!  This was Jason's 1st time making a turkey on the BBQ.  We used the drippings to make gravy (removing the fat) and OMG it was the best gravy I've ever had!

Overall we had an awesome 1st of Thanksgivings!
Tomorrow afternoon we are headed to Jason's grandmas to visit and eat
then we are headed to Jason's Great Grandmas to eat somemore!

Good Bye for now...

This week is going to be a CRAZY week around here to say the least!
So I will not be blogging until around the 28th

Today = more cleaning and getting things ready for the party
Tuesday = celebrating Thanksgiving with Jason's mom and his brother (his brother has to work on Thanksgiving so were having an early Thanksgiving to celebrate with him)
Wednesday = more cleaning and going out to our friends for our Wed. ritual of RC car racing and gossip
Thursday = TURKEY DAY...YAY...we have 2 different stops to make
Friday = I think this is going to be the busyest day!  We have to go to the store and do all our shopping for the party, then I'll be making some of the desserts, doing last minute cleaning and making sure the house looks good...maybe even start decorating so I have one less thing to do on Saturday.  At least Kaylee is going to Grandma's to spend the night, one less kid to chase after will make my life easier!
Sunday = RECOVERING from the party, set up our Christmas Tree & take the girls Christmas pictures!

So I will return on Monday with TONS to blog about and I'm sure a BUTT load of pictures!
I'll be checking in and reading everyone's blogs.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Weekend: Cleaning, Crafting and Hanging out

This weekend there has been lots of cleaning around our house in preperation for Keira's big birthday celebration in 6 days!  I will continue to clean all week making sure the house looks presentable for people to come into...although if you were to come into my house today it looks like a tornado went through our living room...ahhh the joys of kids.

The girls played nicely this weekend with only a few fights, which is nice cause I wasn't feeling to hot yesterday so it was nice that they played together and let me rest on the couch.  I am feeling better today, although I am tired...for whatever reason I woke up at 3:45am and couldn't fall back asleep, I finally fell back asleep around 6:15am.  I had so many things running through my head.

I put away like 4 loads of laundry yesterday as well.  Can I just tell you how much I HATE putting laundry away.  I will wash and dry the clothes all day but I always procrastinate as long as I can on putting the clothes away.  The clothes probably stay in the basket for a week before I finally put them away or when the hubs is like I have NO MORE SOCKS!

After my cleaning and doing laundry I decided to get a little crafy and make the girls matching hair clips for their Christmas outfits.  I think they turned out pretty darn cute!  Their Christmas outfits are complete and I'll be taking their Christmas pictures after Keira's party and once I get all of our Christmas stuff set up.

I attached Keira's clip to a headband and Kaylee's is on a clip

Today we are just hanging out around the house, the weather is freezing and  raining.  So we will not be going anywhere.  It's 10:27am IS IT NAP TIME YET?!  The girls are driving me crazy already.  Kaylee isn't listening and talking back and Keira is getting into EVERYTHING!!!!!!!
Daddy is not home, he's helping his dad get ready for a big pool job that there starting tomorrow.

Last night I decided to get in the Christmas spirit a little bit and set up a few of my Christmas houses that my mom had given me.  I think after Christmas is over I will be going to Michael's to get more when there on sale!  So next year I'll have a cool little set up.
