Father's Day Shenanigans

We celebrated Father's Day a day early and up in the mountains.
Jason's dad has a cabin up in the mountains and we went to spend the day up there with him.
The girls always have such a great time when we go up there, there's so much to explore.

The day didn't really start out how we had planned.  We left later than daddy wanted and got held up in line at McDonalds getting breakfast.  We were 6 miles from his dad's cabin and our heater core line burst and drained all our coolant out within seconds which then lead to our Tahoe over heating.  We had to pull over and access the damage.  Mind you we had no cell service to call his dad and we didn't have enough onstar minutes to make a call either.  We had to flag some people down and ask them if they had water that we could add so that we were able to make it.  One couple was nice enough to pull over and gave us water which we were able to make it a mile down the road before we started over heating again.  Then another nice couple pulled over and was able to give us enough water to make it to Jason's dads cabin.  But once we made it there it was all fun after that.

Lots of running around, playing hide n seek behind all the trees and walking along the river. The water was really cold but that didn't stop the dogs or girls from going in or touching it.  The weather was beautiful.  All in all we had a great day and it was so nice to not have service, we were able to spend real quality time with each other and make some great memories too.
