I hate seeing my baby sick

When Kaylee was a baby, I always worried about her getting sick.  I worried that she'd get so sick she would need to be hospitalized.  I don't know why I thought this.  I thank god, that that never happened.  I was so releaved that Kaylee never got sick.  I think the 1st time she got sick was when she was 2.  I mean that's pretty good.

When Keira came along my fear of the sickies went away a little bit and I didn't worry so much.  I was happy again that miss Keira didn't get her first cold or sickness until she was 18 months.  And both Kaylee and Keira's sickness was the normal common colds, nothing extreme.  Keira didn't have a real bout of sickness until she over 2 when she got Bronchitis.

I knew as soon as Kaylee started school that my non sick children would be getting sick more cause its bound to happen.  I'm happy to say that they haven't really been sick to much this year.

When Kendall turned about 5 months old, she started sounding nasilly and had a little cough, I thought it was due to allergies.  After a week of sounding like that I took her in and they told me it was just a cold and to ride it out.  Well 2 weeks went by and she still had this congestion and cough and I took her back in again and this time they told me she had a virus and to just ride it out.  Well I finally got tired of it when her cough kept getting worse and the congestion was getting worse as well.  She was extremely cranky, which if you know her she is the happiest baby.  So I took her in yet again to find out she has a bronchial infection and an ear infection as well.

The bronchial infection was so bad that we've had to do breathing treatments at home for a week.  She has been doing really really well with it and is starting to sound a lot better.  I hate that it took over a month to find this all out.  I am just really happy that the treatment is working and that happy girl is coming back.  She is back to sleeping through the night again and is just all around happy.

UPDATE as of 5/16
It's been almost a week since her last breathhing treatment and she is doing awesome. I new by the 3rd day of treatment that it was working, my happy girl was returning.   Her cough is almost 100% gone. She is still nasally sounding and I've been giving her saline drops every couple of hours to help.   I'm just so glad that she's back to feeling better and we go back to the dr on Monday to check her ear and make sure the ear infection is gone and listen to her lungs and she'll also have her 6 month check up almost a month late :/

  8. I hope she's out of breathing treatments and is feeling so much better now. Kids are very susceptible to any respiratory infections such as bronchial infection. If you see signs of respiratory infection, take your child to the clinic immediately so that he/she will be given immediate medication. Don't wait for the situation get worse, it might only get into a more serious health issue.

  9. Nobody likes to see their child sick, more so if they have to be hooked up to medical equipment or a breathing apparatus. Hopefully this was the only time it happened, and that she’s doing well now. Take care!

  10. Don’t we all hate seeing our babies sick? It’s kind of a constant fear for parents, because being sick is an inevitable part of growing up. I get why you were so alarmed when she caught that nasty bronchial infection. It’s pretty dangerous, and is quite disturbing since we’re talking about difficulty in breathing.
