Making the decision to get plastic surgery

Plastic surgery may not be for everyone.  And I know it's a touchy subject for some people.  For me this was a personal decision and one that I've had on my mind for a long time!

I've known for a LONG time that when I was done having kids, I would want to get plastic surgery.  No I'm not planning to get lipo or a tummy tuck.  After thinking long and hard I've decided to get my boobs done.  I have struggled with the lack there of boobs my whole life, it's made me very self conscious and just not liking the way I looked in clothes or bathing suits.

When I got pregnant it was fun to actually have boobs for once, as silly as that sounds.  I mean they weren't huge but there was at least something there.  But once the breastfeeding was over the boobs went away.  With each pregnancy they got a little bigger and after the breastfeeding was over they got a little smaller each time.  It was depressing!  Then I started working out on a regular basis and eating healthy and they really disappeared, I mean I feel like a 10 year old girl just hitting puberty.  I hate it, I feel less attractive for my soon to be hubby and I want to feel sexy for him (he thinks I look great!).  The sad thing is that most days you can find me braless because my boobs are so small that they don't fit into a bra!  See what I mean, depressing!

Once we moved to TX I looked up plastic surgeons out here and did lots and lots of research.  I made an apt with Dr. Schaffer and the apt went way better than I expected.  The whole experience was way different than the one I had done in CA.  Dr. Schaffer was so great at explaining everything in detail and taking measurements.  Explaining to us about the different implants and so on.  I got to test drive and see the different cc options.  I overall experience was awesome.  Once I chose how big I wanted to go the Dr came back in to tell me if he thought that was a good size for me.  He remeasured again to make sure the one I chose would work, and it would.

So the next step was to schedule my surgery!  My surgery date is set for March 26 at 12.  After the 1-1.5 hour surgery I will wake up a new woman!  My mom is flying in for a week in a half to help me and to also help with the girls and then after she leaves Jason's mom will fly in to help and visit as well.

I know it's not for everyone but this is person decision for me.

  1. Good for you, you have to do what you have to do to be happy. I understand the desire - I too have a small chest and enjoyed the extra fullness when pregnant and nursing...and disappointment when they went flat as pancakes afterwards. :)

  3. Good for you! I have been honest with my husband about my desire to have a couple of things fixed after we are done having kids, he has been supportive and understanding. The boobs are on my list too...just the opposite way, smaller! Take care and I hope everything goes well.

  7. Good for you! I don't have the problem of size, but I always think about getting a lift when I am done with babies. I don't have personal experience with this obviously, but I had a friend who had a similar situation as yours and unfortunately she went way too big. She is now self-conscious in that way and is having back trouble as well. Just be sure with your sizing so you don't feel uncomfortable the other way. Good Luck!

  10. I agree that breast implant, like any plastic surgery, is not for everyone. Nevertheless, it’s a prerogative for those who want it for themselves. Whatever you have to do boost your self-esteem, as long as it won’t pose harm and you do it responsibly, will be good for you. Good luck to your oncoming surgery, Joeylee. May you feel the sexiness you desire after the procedure! Candance, CosMed
